Advent Calendars: Not Just For The Kiddos Anymore

November is cruising by and Christmas will be here before you know it. Hopefully you were able to take part in Red Barn Mercantile’s Holiday Unveiling earlier this month or you’ll be stopping in soon to have a look at our winter wonderland.

There is so much to see in the shops and on our websites right now, and we want to make sure you don’t miss this year’s Advent calendars. Not just for kiddos anymore! Although, we do have several that definitely are. Whether you want something simple or something loaded with sweet surprises, we've got 'em.

We love a tradition and we really, really love the holidays. Advent calendars are a fun December ritual for kids and adults to pace the Christmas countdown and build anticipation. We have several options that all double as darling decorations and a few that have extra special surprises inside, some edible and some that will last for years to come. We found some really wonderful options this year that we’re excited to share with you, some of which can be treasured for generations to come.

Penny Post has a few Advent Calendars as well. A couple may look familiar, but that’s only because they’re too good to pass on. Two of the most popular holiday items year after year are McCrea’s Caramel Advent Calendar and Diamine’s Inkvent Calendar, both of which are a little bit different every year but always wonderful. This year there is also a new Rifle Paper Co. Snow Globe Advent Calendar that makes such a darling decoration.

Red Barn Mercantile has an incredibly sweet collection as well, some of which can be passed down for generations! The two we’re most excited about are the Metal House Advent Calendar which has drawers for you to tuck your own sweet messages and gifts into, and the Embroidered Wall Hanging Advent Calendar with sweetly stitched details and pockets for every day of the month. Treasures ready to be filled with treasures for years to come.

We also have a few repeats from previous years, once again, because they’re so good! If you’re looking to spoil any littles this year, we have three suitcase-style advent calendars that are sure to delight — one with wooden holiday village figures, one cat-themed, and another with dinosaurs! All sure to provide joy well through the holiday season. New this year is an assortment of chocolate-filled calendars sure to delight. Classic! You cannot go wrong with making a tradition out of any of these sweet Advent Calendars.
