Decorating for Fall – and Tailgating Essentials

It doesn’t feel like fall quite yet, but it’s coming! And I’m very much looking forward to it. Colorful leaves, cooler weather, holidays, and tailgating season. Even if you're not into football, there are cozy blankets (for when it finally cools down), refreshing drinks, and of course, snacks to be had. At Red Barn Mercantile and Penny Post, we've rounded up a few things to get you ready for tailgating season whether you're headed to the game, watching at home, or completely ignoring football altogether.

@Red Barn Mercantile

Red Barn Mercantile has a few great picnic baskets (on sale!) and bags for toting drinks and food around town if you are headed to a tailgate or to a watch party. Load them up with some refreshments and be everyone’s favorite guest! We have mixers, and craft cocktail kits to make bartending a breeze.

Catstudio’s Collegiate Collection makes the perfect backdrop for any college football viewing party. The pillows, glasses, and dish towels radiate school spirit. Also great for a party at home is The Cheese Board Deck - 50 easy-to-follow cards for styling savory and sweet spreads. Additionally, we’ve just marked down some very cool metal plates and liners

We also have blankets of varying coziness, which again, will hit the spot later in the season. We have some easy-to-pack waterproof picnic blankets as well that are great for every season. And perhaps most important of all, if you’re headed to a game or going to be spending time outside, don’t forget the SPF. Our Kinfield collection of sun/skincare items is a line we’re really excited about.

@Penny Post

Over at Penny Post, we’re always ready for a party. Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn is a forever favorite. High-quality ingredients paired with excellent flavors make this one of the easiest, most satisfying snacks. We also have some new Legally Addictive cookies that you may not want to share.

And to keep things tidy, check out our most hilarious cocktail napkins

We also recently added a very cool line of canvas + leather bags from Immodest Collection that will hold said snack offerings. And if you’re the one everyone counts on for baked goods, we’d suggest sticking this “star baker” pin on the bag.

Whether or not you’ve been looking forward to football season, we hope you’re packing up picnic baskets, hosting gatherings, noshing all over town, and enjoying all the best bits of fall!
