Reinventing The Basics: Wearcisco
Last fall, I was at my Smythe appointment, and in the corner of my eye, I spotted another rack with shirts lined up by color. Then I noticed our Smythe rep was wearing one of the coolest shirts I had seen in a long time. It was oversized but had a button at the side to give it a more fitted look. I pointed to the rack, then to her shirt, and asked if this was what she was wearing. It was, and it was even better than I realized. You could wear it two ways, not just one.
The shirt she was wearing was called the men’s shirt, a modern interpretation of a classic men’s shirt. You can wear it buttoned across your torso or unbuttoned for a relaxed fit. Next up, it came in a cropped version. When I say cropped, I know what you are thinking, but it just means a few inches are cut off the bottom. It has the same option to wear buttoned straight down or to the side.
These two pieces are the foundation of the line, but they also have a shirt dress and puff shirt. We just unpacked our second order, and they are flying off the shelves. We are working on getting more of the basic colors, and we placed a huge order for fall since they have been so popular.
The line was created by two friends who wanted timeless and classic pieces. They wanted understated elegance with a twist, yet the pieces would never go out of style.
I would say they accomplished their goal. I forgot to mention they also did a blazer collar with Smythe that is beautiful. The lining is Wearcisco, and the rest is Smythe. You can’t go wrong with that combo.
