Reserve Your Spot: Ann Mashburn Made To Order

When Ann Mashburn is here on Friday, April 1, she will not only have extra items from her spring collection; she will also have her Made to Order Shirting. I know sometimes folks get confused with Made to Measure. This is a little different. We don’t take measurements and make a custom shirt; rather, we have samples of different styles that you can try and find your best style and fit, and then there is a huge collection of fabric swatches from which you can choose to have a shirt made just for you. There are great colors, Liberty of London prints, and so many stripes. I am sure there is something for everyone. I love the designer tunic, and I get the director tunic to wear as a cover-up. I am not good with frills, really, so I love a great oversized shirt to wear at the beach. Of course, I wear it during the day, but it has become my summer staple with a big hat at the pool or beach or drinks afterward.

There are so many options, and it is great to work with Ann or someone from the company. Of course, your Hive team will also be there to help, but everybody likes a little help from an expert. Click to pick a time. The shirts take about four to six weeks to come in. I really can’t say enough great things about her shirting. You can’t beat the quality of the fabric or the tailoring.

I hope you will come in and shop and meet Ann and the Fortunato sisters on April 1 from 10am to 4pm. We will have an espresso bar, too, if you don’t have time to grab a coffee on the way or need an afternoon shopping and caffeine pick me up.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
