Rose Quartz & Jade Rollers…So What’s the Deal?

Over the past few months, more and more people have been asking me for jade and rose quartz facial rollers. Why? I mean I know they are trendy right now, but what do they do? I had no idea! So, I decided to investigate and, of course, try it for myself...and I was surprised by what I found.

I have to admit to being skeptical of many beauty tools. I mean, a roller that I roll up and down my face? Really? It all sounded a bit ridiculous. I had heard that using a roller would press the serums I had applied further into my skin, that I should use it in an upward direction to assist in lymphatic drainage, and that the roller would also help with under eye puffiness. Really? Couldn’t I just use my fingers to press the serum into my skin and couldn’t I give myself a lymphatic facial with my fingers?  The answer to both those questions was yes.But the truth was, I wasn’t really doing that. I was rubbing on my serum and I was not giving myself the lymphatic facials.I started in the morning after I applied my Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense and C E Ferulic serum; I gently pressed a lightweight oil all over my skin and grabbed the rose quartz roller. I started rolling on my neck in upward strokes to my chin. Then from the center of my chin upwards and outwards toward my ears, and then from my nose in upwards and outwards strokes to my ears. Then I proceeded to the forehead and rolled from brow to hairline and then from the center of my forehead to the ears. I flipped the roller over to the small end and used the roller under my eyes. The crystal stays cool on its own, but if you have puffy eyes then pop it into the refrigerator for extra de-puffing in the morning. The upwards and outwards motion helps to remove toxins that have accumulated in the lymph nodes. The massaging increases blood flow and circulation and, with repeated usage, a brightness to the skin. I was skeptical, but I realized that it was such an easy addition to my routine that I actually kept up with it daily. I’ve learned over the years that there a bunch of effective products and treatments out there, but if you aren’t consistent with them you don’t see the benefits ultimately. This is an easy add-on and one that feels a bit indulgent, as well. So, jade or rose quartz, and what’s the difference? According to the research I’ve done, the main difference is that jade is supposed to be energizing and rose quartz is supposed to be calming. As a result, jade is recommended for morning skincare rituals and rose quartz for evening. I tried them both; I can’t say I noticed a physical difference. So I guess it comes down to how in tune you are with the spiritual differences, or, if you’re like me, which one looks better in your bathroom.
