Savile Row-Inspired Style
It’s time for full disclosure: I am a total anglophile. And yes, if you trace my ancestry it would be a pretty straight line to England, so I come by it honestly. My parents and younger sister even lived there for a few years, so I was able to visit a bit and it only reconfirmed my love for all things British. I love the temperature, the crown, tea at 4 o’clock, dogs, a good pub, Colin Firth, and I especially love British humor. Absolutely Fabulous is the one of the best shows ever and I currently can’t stop binging on The Great British Baking Show. I am still mourning the loss of Mary Berry as a judge and the old hosts Mel and Sue.But one of the new cast members, Noel Fielding, has captured my heart. Especially his wardrobe. His shirt game is amazing and seeing what he is going to wear has almost the same level of anticipation for me as speculating which contestant will be kicked off the show that week. So, this leads me to British fashion. There is something about how the Brits dress that resonates with me. When I think of English fashion, I think of a bespoke tailoring, maybe a trench, or a blazer or top coat in tweed, houndstooth, or a great tartan plaid: classic Savile Row.This fall Savile Row has influenced many collections and now that cooler weather is here we can’t wait to start layering our favorite fabrics from across the pond.
