The Shoe Hive Welcomes Two New Brands
I think The Hive is still my shiny new object. I really do love The Shoe Hive. I mean but just like the first-born child (which I am not, I am the pain in the butt middle child) I know it is stable, secure and knows what it is doing. So, I tend to pay attention to the shiny new object.Well, I walked through our courtyard and into the shop a few weeks ago and I thought to myself, it is time to refocus and recommit to The Shoe Hive. I decided I needed to inject some excitement into the store. Time for a refresh. So here it is: I am proud to introduce two new lines to The Shoe Hive this spring, one, RODO out of Italy and the other, Alexandre Birman, out of Brazil. I will admit, I also decided to kind of swing for the fences. Both lines are high end, made by hand, and not something you can find just anywhere. They sit on the shelves of luxury retailers like Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, or online at Net-a-Porter. That’s not too shabby of company to keep. Upon ordering I was not aware of what the world would be like right now, so maybe not the best time, but man are they pretty.Alexandre Birman is a 10-year-old brand out of Brazil, known for its craftsmanship, exotic skins and a signature bow that can be found on everything from their most famous shoe, the Clarita pump to their sneakers that are a favorite of celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow.RODO, on other end, has been around since 1956 and started as a handbag company and evolved into shoes. To show you just the time and precision put in to making these shoes (and why they have the price tag they do) you can watch the videos below. Both these brands show that making shoes is both an art and a type of craftsmanship that seems to be harder to find - but now both can be found at The Shoe Hive.
