Size Matters Not: The Tall and Short of It

I’m 5’9” and, contrary to what many of Kiskadee’s lovely customers think, I can’t wear everything. Cropped pants don’t always land on the proper part of the leg (I tend too look more shipwrecked), and dresses that are a bit shorter are…well…very short. It is, of course, flattering to be told I can wear anything. However, the comment typically comes after I urge a customer to try on a piece of clothing they continually ogle but automatically deem it won’t fit. I immediately say what I have said multiple times in these posts, you never know until you try it on! (Thanks, Mom!)So, what does fit all shapes and sizes? Maxi and midi dresses! Simply alter your shoes to a height you are comfortable with. Celeste, at 5’3”, and I picked a few of our favorite new dresses to show how you, too, can wear these fashionable styles.Ruby Yaya and Lula Soul are two of our favorite summertime lines. Their dresses range from goddess-like to beach casual and never stay in the store for long. Here Celeste is rocking the goddess and beach look! Note how the dresses fit very maxi-like…the length is perfect! She is also wearing platform shoes to give her the extra height she desires. On me the dresses may be considered more tea length, but it doesn’t ruin the line nor the essence of the cut. This dress by Eva Franco is an absolute delight! The cheerful colors, the modern graphics, the flow-y design, and oh-so-soft and forgiving fabric is simply wonderful! Even with Celeste and I wearing the same shoes the length is just right.Size matters not…but your confidence does!
