Goodbye Dry, Hello Dewy. This Spring's Lip Trend Shines
Now and again a trend hits that I just love. This spring it is the return of shine in lip products. For so long, matte lips won the day and all the innovation in lip products was long-wear matte. To be sure, it’s a great look. It lasts all day and it feels very polished. But there is something so fresh about all the shine we’re seeing now.Every week we get another new lip shine product. There is bound to be one that will be your perfect spring/summer shade.
The first of those products is Lipstick Queen’s Rearview Mirror collection. These lipsticks are a high-shine gloss stick, inspired by the reflective surface of a mirror and of a fresh coat of paint. This innovation jelly stick melts on contact with the lips, providing intense, non-sticky shine and comfortable wear. The colors range from subtle to vibrant. These are a go-to for a bold look.
Kevyn Aucoin’s Glass Glow Lip is available in three shades: Crystal, Prism Rose, and Spectrum Bronze. These sexy glosses are full impact shine with a shimmer to boot. Think sun goddess.
Lastly, Smashbox has introduced Gloss Angeles lip glosses that feel amazing, are super shiny, and are available in shimmer and non-shimmer shades. With the possible exception of the super vibrant pink, they are all really wearable shades for all skin tones. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I’d have to go with Hustle & Glow if I had to pick one. I probably won’t. I already have my eye on three.
