Street Style: Bryn Beary

One of the reasons Angela and I started Alexandria Stylebook was to collaborate with other businesses and let the readers know about events happening in Alexandria. It has been a great way for us to help promote charity events (and we all know Alexandria is one of the most philanthropic towns) that benefit our community and beyond. So when an email popped up in my inbox about an event at Lost Boy Cider to raise funds for Ukrainian children, I knew Street Style was the perfect place to showcase this great business and this great cause.

We thought this was a great way for everyone to meet Bryn Beary, the Director of Fundraising at Mountain Seed Foundation. Not to mention the support of Katya, the owner of She’s Unique, was also involved. So anything Katya supports, we do as well.

Mountain Seed Foundation was established in 2021 with an aim to help children and their families caught in the war zones of Europe, particularly in Ukraine. Veteran-led, they understand the traumas youth will endure as a result of war and associated struggles. Mountain-based camps provide an atmosphere carefully designed to heal through art, therapy, skill-building, and mentoring from a team of professionals who volunteer their time.

This event will be held at Lost Boy Cider at 317 Hooffs Run Drive right here in Alexandria. If you haven’t checked it out yet, this is the perfect reason. The event is from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, September 9, and you can learn more about how to purchase a ticket here. It is going to be a great night with fun, food, and a silent auction. I hope you enjoy meeting Bryn as much as we have, and we hope to see you in a few weeks at Lost Boy Cider.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
