What We’re Planning: Summer Must-Dos Before September Arrives

While we’re getting tired of hearing “the summer flew by”…and “Omg, how is it back-to-school already?” The reality is, it did fly by, and the kids are already waiting at the bus stop. When you’re on the go 24/7, trying to savor every precious (and humid) moment of summer – August immediately follows July 4th weekend. We asked our contributors to share what they’re squeezing in before fall arrives, because if anyone masters piling too much on their plates, it’s small business owners:

Katelin, Family First Law: More pool time! I feel like it's been so hot that I haven't even been in the pool much this summer!!

Don, Don Ripper Art: Finish my summer reading list. The last book is The Razor’s Edge by W. Somerset Maugham.

Kristin, Kristin Try Interiors: Before September, I will get a new planner from Penny Post and plan a new fitness schedule with Barre3! If anyone wants to join me, reach out as I am going to be a bit of a mess without my workout partner, aka oldest daughter who I just dropped off at college!

Amy, Red Barn, Penny Post, Pippin Toy Co.: Spending quality time with both my kids before they’re off to college. We often take for granted the entire summer ahead of us, and before we know it it's time to go back to school.

Kendall, Moneta Accounting Solutions: Our must-do from Moneta is: “Pay your estimated taxes by September 15th and then reward yourself with a banana caramel milkshake from The Custard Shack!” Here’s my son, Ryder, drinking said banana caramel milkshake.

Celthia, Bellacara: Before September arrives, a summer must-do is to enjoy one last outdoor adventure, whether it's a beach day, a hiking trip, or a picnic with friends, to make the most of the season's warmth and sunshine!

Adrien, Adrien Cotton Wellness: No question: Every woman should consider my 8-week concierge program that will start in the fall. This program aims to give a snapshot of what our concierge small group program can do for you, and your wellness, and help you sustain clear achievable habits not just through the holidays, yet for the rest of your life. Every week, we will go over each spoke of the wheel, set intentions and new habits then spend 30 minutes on strength training like you've never had before. Online or in person!

Rainbow, Alexandria Stylebook: One trip to the beach. Even though I dig the beach at Herrington Harbor South, it’s not the Atlantic Ocean, or the Pacific or the Mediterranean for that matter. But it seems I will squeeze it in as we move my stepson Dylan into ODU this week…it just so happens to be near Virginia Beach. :)

Share your summer must-dos before September arrives in the comments!
