The Best Gift For A Mom Or Dad
As a chiropractor, I try to research the best exercises to strengthen a parent’s back and core and to prevent aches and pains when carrying a little one. But, it’s often impossible to “mom” or “dad” ergonomically, especially when that amazing cutie is born and you can’t stop looking down, admiring every coo, and fretting over every cry. The use of your arms to bounce, lift, swaddle, and swing is exhausting, if not painful. Have you noticed that when carrying your growing “meatball” on your hip, you’re feeling crooked with pain in the lower back and hips? All of these issues are preventable!
Knowing this is the Alexandria Stylebook, I feel obligated to share a product I find fashionable and functional. The Tushbaby Carrier is a great solution for all the above. It is a baby carrier and a bum bag with a seat. Could you imagine a better gift?
Mom or Dad can wear it around the waist and the baby can be held in one of two positions – lying across the front (this is great for breastfeeding) or on the hip straddling the seat with their thighs supported and facing outwards. Because the weight of the baby is supported by the carrier, the parent is saving their hips and arm. When the saddle or seat is moved to the front of the waist, the baby can lay on their side and breastfeed, allowing Mom to sit upright without having to drag around breastfeeding pillows or to use blankets to prop up the baby to save her arms.
