The Easiest Way To Elevate Your Denim

I am so excited to announce this next event which has been three years in the making. We planned a similar event in the spring of 2020 but lost it due to Covid. Since then, we just haven’t been able to figure it out - until now. Mark your calendars for Friday, October 21, from 2pm to 6pm and Saturday, October 22, from 10am to 2pm for our Denim Event with Ranger Stitch from Nashville.

I am not sure how to put into words how amazing this event is going to be. I have watched with envy as stores in Nashville and Florida have hosted this amazing team, and now we are bringing them to Alexandria. It is going to be AMAZING. They bring their vintage sewing machines and do chainstitch embroidery. These aren’t computer machines; they guide the needle by hand using a small handle underneath. They are artists and what they can create is remarkable. It is hard to believe it is a human making these pieces.

We are also hosting a Citizens of Humanity and an AGOLDE Trunk Show at the same time. Our representative, Griffin, will be here for the day on Friday to help you pick out the fit that works best for you. She is also bringing lots of great denim shirts and jackets to personalize. Don’t worry; it isn’t just denim you can personalize. We have ordered tons of bandanas and purse straps that are perfect for some stitching. T-shirts are also a great option.

How it works is if you purchase an item at one of our stores this weekend, you can have it stitched. It is first come, first serve - so you might have to come back to pick up your item, depending on how busy it is. We will have some samples to help give you ideas or check out their Instagram beforehand.

We hope you can come by. If you aren’t in town, we can try our best to accommodate you over the phone. We can’t wait for this fun event. We have never done anything like it, and we are so excited.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
