The Biggest Trunk Show of the Year: Lizzie Fortunato and Ann Mashburn

I realize I keep saying "get ready for the biggest trunk show of the year,” but this might actually be it, because it’s two shows in one. Next week is the joint Lizzie Fortunato and Ann Mashburn Trunk Show.

Here’s the thing: it isn’t just two trunk shows, both designers will also be in person at The Hive.

We kick it off next Thursday night from 4 to 8pm where you can meet Ann Mashburn and Lizzie and Kathryn Fortunato. Enjoy a cocktail and some treats, and shop an expanded selection from their spring lines.

The Ann Mashburn team will also be doing Made to Order Shirting on Thursday night and Friday. Sign up for an appointment via those links, and work with Stephanie from the Ann Mashburn team. This is not custom, just so folks know, but it is made to order. You pick the style and the fabric and they make the shirt for you.

The Fortunato sisters will also be in store on Friday from 10am to 4pm. They really are the most wonderful people and it’s always interesting to learn the why and how behind the pieces. All of their collection is made in their New York City offices. It is a sight to see, with trays and trays of the beautiful beads and stones that are all set by hand. It is a female-owned and female-run business. They are exactly the type of women you want to represent and the pieces are burly works of art.

I hope you will stop in next Thursday to meet all the designers (I mean we rarely have one let alone three) and the second best part: all Lizzie and Ann are 20 percent off for the weekend!

If you can’t make it Thursday, don’t worry the collections will be there all weekend. Hope to see you.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
