Why Summer Sets Might Just Beat Dresses (And How to Style Them)
Everyone says dresses make getting dressed easy — and it’s true. But I’d argue that sets are an even better option. They’re just as effortless but come with way more versatility.
On a recent trip to Bermuda (a packing guide post is coming soon!), I wore a set nearly every day. I’d mix and match the shorts or top the next day for the beach or a walk around town, and it worked perfectly. In fact, I packed two sets I didn’t even wear, because I kept reaching for my favorites on repeat.
We just unpacked three brand-new sets, and each one brings something different to the table, so I asked Madeline to help style them for us.
Anine Bing. Think laid-back luxe. This super casual set is made for beach getaways, long weekends, or just breezy summer days around town.
Hunter Bell. This one is my current obsession. It’s polished and feminine — perfect for summer showers, dinners out, and even dressed up for a casual wedding.
TWP. This is the one I personally ordered. It’s the most transitional of the three, and I love that I’ll be able to wear it well into fall. The pull-on pants are lightweight but structured, and the sleeveless top layers beautifully under a blazer for the office or with a sweater come September.
Come visit us at The Hive and check out our latest arrivals from TWP, Anine Bing, Hunter Bell, and more. Your closet (and your suitcase) will thank you!
