The Perfect Summer Pants (When It’s Too Hot for Jeans but Shorts Won’t Cut It)

I’ve said it before here on Stylebook: I’m a shorts person. But even I have moments—like going out to dinner or walking around town—when I don’t want to wear shorts. Sometimes I just want more coverage, especially if I’m sitting down for lunch and don’t want to stick to the seat. But jeans? They can feel way too hot in the summer. That’s when you need a lighter, more breathable option.

We found the perfect solution to this problem last year: a pant from Citizens of Humanity. It was such a hit that luckily, they brought it back this year.

Right now, we have the Brynn Drawstring Trouser in white, and in a few weeks, we’ll be getting a similar style in a rich bronze—perfect if you’re not a white-pants person.

To show just how versatile these pants are, I asked Annette and Angelica to style them their own way. Of course, they also look great with just a tee and flip-flops. Truly, they’re the perfect summer pant.
