ALX Sidewalk Sale: We’re Starting Early at The Hive at The Shoe Hive

I feel like we’ve been talking about the Alexandria Sidewalk Sale all summer and it’s finally here! It’s our last weekend to have The Shoe Hive in its own space at 127 South Fairfax Street. I have to admit, the transition has been more emotional than I thought it would be. I truly love that space and it’s what made me a successful retailer. Yes, it was our second location. But it is the spot that really helped us grow into what we are today. I know so many clients are sad to see it go as well. We will do our best to make the space at 315 Cameron just as special.

Since this is the last weekend on South Fairfax, and it’s the big summer sale in Alexandria, you can imagine that we have some major markdowns at both stores. We are also starting the markdowns before the actual sidewalk sale – starting Thursday, August 8, both stores will be marked at their lowest prices of the season.

I know shopping a sale can sometimes be frustrating. Sizes are picked over and we all know the best size to be for shoes is a 6 or 6.5. It is crazy how many we have left of those sizes. If you are an 8 or 9, you aren’t as lucky. But we still have some shoes left in all sizes and some really good ones, too. We also have a huge selection still at The Hive. An entire side of the store is on sale and there are great pieces you can wear now and through fall. Of course if you don’t want to deal with hunting for sizes, there are always gifts, jewelry and handbags marked down. I have carried the same Jerome Dreyfuss sling for two years and get stopped on the street with admirers. It has been marked down all summer – and now we have slashed the price even more.

To help prove how many great items we have left we put together some outfits of all sale items. As you can see below, the savings are huge! We’re also starting our sale early because we have to get rid of all this stuff before we move it into our new outlet. P.S. The Hive. 

Our sidewalk sale starts on Thursday, August 8, with both stores marked down. Don’t worry if you’re traveling, which so many folks do in August – you can shop the sale online.

Stop in and say hello and I guess goodbye to our sweet space at 127 South Fairfax. It has been a great 15 years but we are excited to watch Monday’s Child grow, and have all of our team and merchandise in one spot. Well, if not one spot, I guess one block, since the outlet is on Cameron as well.
