Singles On Sale

If you know my husband, you know he is full of country sayings. If you are down in the dumps, he will say you are “lower than a snake's belly.” When your kids want to do something that you know is going to end up with them in trouble then, he will tell them “that dog won’t hunt.” And when you are getting close to the end of something you are “down to the lick log.” I’ve never completely gotten the origin of that one, but it for sure has communicated a stark reality for a long time. That is how I feel about the sale we are having this week – the singles sale. It is the items where we are down to the lick log.

Some of these items have been here for a bit, lonely on the rack. Others are not old at all, but we flew through them, and we know how frustrating it can be for customers when there is only one left so we decided it was time to mark down the remaining singles. Annette also requested this sale since making the racks look nice with a bunch of single items isn’t easy, and that’s her job.

This time, we are going to do something different and kick off the sale with a live session on Instagram. I will be at the store at noon on Wednesday, April 5 to go live and show everyone what is in the sale. You can also shop the sale online. Don’t forget we aren’t open on Easter Sunday. It’s always been one of our very rare closed days so we can all wear all the beautiful things we’ve bought for spring, but of course, the website is always working.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
