Our Top Picks for the Week of March 12, 2018
It's National Napping Day (yes, that's a thing, and yes, it's because of springing forward), but, besides the cozy blanket, this week's picks are anything but sleepy. In fact, from a new accessory that can be styled multiple ways to earrings that can be dressed up or down, to a sweater and dress made for these weird, middling temps, our picks are perfect as spring awakens, right down to a shade of nail polish that practically embodies the season.Elizabeth: One of Katie’s sorority sisters from University of Arizona started the greatest accessory line, Donni Charm. One of my favorite pieces, the Coco, makes it easy to wear this spring's biggest trend, the neckerchief. But that isn’t the only way to wear it. Tie it as a head scarf or on a ponytail or even on a purse just to add a little flair. Ivory, Sand, Pink, or as pictured in Camel. (Available at The Hive, $79)Amy: Yes, today is National Napping Day and I highly suggest you take advantage of it. I know I will try to work in a nap using my favorite Dash & Albert blanket. Their blankets are 100 percent cotton, they wash incredibly well, and at 60”x78” are a very generous size. In short, they are perfect for napping. Enjoy! (Available at Red Barn Mercantile, $94)Meaghan: Tim and I have the most fun kind of wedding coming up at the end of the month (local, low-key, short ceremony, long party, and for good friends), which will give me the perfect opportunity to wear our Dual Disk earrings. I like them in 14-karat gold with a hammered finish to give a bit of texture. (Available online and at Alexandria and Company, starting at $200 in sterling silver)Alicia: It’s cold, then it’s kind of warm, then it’s cold again. Start spring off with an incredible sweater, the Hyacinth Pom Pom from Apiece Apart! We love it with high waisted denim or the “it” pant all the NYC girls love, the Merida pant also from Apiece Apart! (Available at TSALT, $450)Editor's Pick: You may not know this about me, but I am obsessed with nail polish. In high school I changed my polish to match my outfits...daily. Now I don't have the time (obvs), but I do like my nails to -- if not match, per se -- at least align with both the season and my mood. That's why I am currently loving Smith & Cult's A Short Reprise. This lavender-y mauve is brighter and more cheerful than the rich taupes and deep reds and indigos I favor in the winter months, but muted enough not to feel like my mani/pedi would be more at home partying poolside in Miami. Think that deepest pink tone at the base of a yet-to-bloom cherry blossom bud; in other words, perfect for March. Oh, and Smith & Cult's polishes are awesomely long-wearing, super shiny, and free from harsh chemicals, which is a good thing based on what I likely exposed myself to in high school. (Available at Bellacara, $18)Celeste: A customer favorite, Tyler Boe has our favorite jacquard for spring – it is a simple yet chic shift dress with statement details fabricated in an extra soft, stretchy jacquard. It is both comfortable and flattering, plus it travels well and is machine washable! (Available at Kiskadee, $162)
