Our Top Picks for the Week of April 1, 2019
One of my most common typos while editing Stylebook is top icks for top picks, and it makes me chuckle every single time. So when our regular Monday top picks post fell on April Fool's Day, I was so tempted to let the typo stand. But these picks really are way too charming to prank, from a flattering sheath with a cheerful floral to stripe-y, strap-y wedges that are just plain happy, from a better-than-basic white tee (those sleeves!) to a gloss that works solo or with your favorite lipstick, and from a cute kitty pouch to fan studs that can be angled multiple ways. Side note, my second most common typo is The Show Hive, which makes me think of performing bees. 😉Ali: Rebecca Vallance is an Australian designer known for her structured tailoring, luxurious fabrics, and global aesthetic, and we are thrilled to start carrying this spring! You'll see her designs on stars such as Rachel McAdams, Kate Beckinsale, and Chrissy Teigen. The Estelle Mini Dress is one that you'll instantly grab as a spring go-to. The simplicity of the sheath silhouette compliments this bright and cheery pattern. It's a classic shape and a great option to wear to Easter brunch, a spring wedding, or even under a blazer to the office. (Available at TSALT, $400)Meaghan: I love carrying a collection of simple, easy studs in our showroom because I find clients are always ready to upgrade their daily earrings but they didn't necessarily know where to start. These pierced fan shapes would be a great addition to any collection and I love their versatility: angle them up, down, or to the sides to shake things up a bit. In 14k white, rose, yellow gold or platinum. (Available at Alx&Co., $245)Angela: I admit I’ve never been a fan of Smashbox lip glosses before, but now I want every single one of their new Gloss Angeles lip glosses. If I had to pick one...I guess it would be Hustle & Glow. Gorgeous on its own and beautiful layered over your favorite lipstick. You have to try these! (Available at Bellacara, $19)Amy: We've just added so many springtime goodies to our kiddo section, including this kitty pouch. Such an adorable place to keep little treasures safe. (Available at Red Barn Mercantile, $18)Celeste: Happy, happy in so many ways! First, this shoe is from the wonderful Charleston Shoe Company…stylish and comfortable. Second, this shoe hosts a kaleidoscope of fun spring and summertime colors! The crisscross, stretchy straps give you a custom fit and allow your feet to expand throughout the day…perfect for all-day wear. The two-inch wedge is manageable yet gives you a nice boost in height. These won’t last! (Available at Kiskadee, $140)Elizabeth: Every spring I feel like I need to update my t-shirt collection. The whites look dingy or black can be faded. Citizens of Humanity has some of the best t-shirts around. They are thick and the different cuts really elevate and look. Shown here, the Anise Top. In white, black or pink. (Available at The Hive, $138)
