Everyone loves a festive cocktail dress, but today I am going to focus on the unsung wardrobe heroes that will get you through the holiday party season! While these pieces may not be the most exciting to look at, they will make you look incredible and most importantly, make you feel good. 

Undies

Seriously, no one wants to see your underwear line. (I would say panty line, but I feel like people cringe at the word “panty.” I guess I just said it twice now. Whoops!) Here are your options. Wear these amazing seamless thongs by Commando or wear nothing. Judge me. You know I’m right. 

Fashion Tape

These are a must-have for slip-ups and malfunctions. This adhesive will keep your tops/dresses from revealing too much or they can even fix a hem that comes undone. It will also keep bra straps hidden, close button gaps, hide a slip, anchor the end of a belt, and more! These are a lifesaver! 

Slip

There are some fabrics that cling to body parts that no one needs to see. A slip helps the dress or skirt fabric hang properly and prevents any clinging. If you’re a lace bra person, a slip dress will help smoothen the bumpiness of the lace. Finally, this could solve any sheerness concerns by adding one extra layer of protection.

Shapewear

For more fitted dresses, be sure to wear shapewear to smoothen trouble zones like tummy, under arm, and back (especially around the bra area). This goes for all sizes! I prefer a body suit that allows you to wear your own bra. 

Hosiery

Go through your tights every single year and check them for runs and pulls. My go-to’s for cold weather are black sheer and black opaque tights. Stick to high waist control tops with tights to prevent them from rolling down.

 Socks 

Tights can be claustrophobic and they aren’t always necessary. Having sheer black knee socks is a great option with a mid-length skirt or dress. They come in tons of different colors, but I always opt for black. These are also a great way to make a black boot shaft look taller under a cropped pant. Plus, not everyone wants their bare ankles showing.
