Walk To Bust Cancer

Get your family and friends together for a little exercise to support a great cause! Whether it’s a family member, neighbor, co-worker or friend, we all know someone that has been touched by breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Alexandria-based National Breast Center Foundation is holding its 4th Annual Walk to Bust Cancer. The walk will be held at Fort Hunt Park on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at 9am.The walk has grown from 400 to almost 800 walkers in just four years. Wow! The fun-filled morning will include kids’ activities, music, dancing, exercise exhibitions and more! Entertainment will be held before and after the 1.2 mile walk.   Thanks to the community’s support, the money raised goes to help screen, test and treat women in the DC area for breast cancer. These women and their families get genetic testing and the care for breast cancer that they desperately need, but might not be able to afford.  Registration is now open! The walk is open to all ages, both as individuals or teams and all registrations can be completed through their website. This year the National Breast Center Foundation is encouraging people to form teams to walk together and raise funds as either individuals or teams to support the efforts. Make a fun team name and get walking! Register today at www.walktobustcancer.org (If you can’t walk, donations are also accepted) or email walkinfo@nationalbreastcenter.org.
