We Have Big Girl Dresses, Too!
We get a lot of requests for help with girls’ sizes seven thru twelve to fourteen who have aged out of smocked dresses but still want something sweet, classic, and appropriate for their age - and not a crop top. Luckily many of our favorite brands are starting to design up to a size fourteen, and we’re slowly but very surely working to have more options for the girls!
We just unpacked our first shipment of Bisby for the spring, and it’s one of the best brands for our older girls - the line is fashion-forward and timeless. Their collection is designed with a diverse palette of colors, textures, and prints so that each girl can decide what style means to her. They make really soft floral leggings and skinny jeans, fun skorts that are great for the playground, adorable rompers and jumpsuits, jean jackets, and easy dresses that have just the right amount of twirl. It’s a fun and sophisticated line, and it flies out the door as we unpack it.
We are also loving the line, Little Olin, designed by local Washington, D.C. mom Olga Jaeckel and her seven-year-old daughter. They have created a European-inspired, durable, and sophisticated clothing line for girls ages two to fourteen that can be worn to school and special occasions. We just started carrying her line this past fall, and it’s been such a hit - they aim to fill the gap in the market with fun, stylish clothing with unique details that are resilient and more affordable than other luxury clothing lines. And our customers have been loving it! More to come for spring!
Classic prep is also a favorite for our older girls, and we should be getting some amazing new arrivals in February! And our best-selling brands, The Beaufort Bonnet Company and Little English, are expanding their size ranges up to a size fourteen.
