What We’re Loving: Summer Travel Destinations 2025

Summer is calling and so are the open roads, coastal breezes, and mountain air. This month, our contributors are sharing the destinations that have captured their hearts and itineraries. From sailing the Chesapeake and cruising through Alaskan fjords to basking on North Carolina’s beaches, exploring the lakes of Upstate New York, and soaking up the desert magic of Utah, these getaways are as inspiring as they are diverse. Consider this your invitation to dream, plan, and maybe add a few new spots to your own wanderlist. Check them out:

Gabby, Coastal Collaborative Care: This summer, I’m splitting my time between the Chesapeake Bay and—hopefully, eventually—a beach on the Atlantic Ocean. We’re part of a boat club in Annapolis, so weekends often mean cruising to Dobbins Island, passing Gayfield’s Farm, or riding the waves to Kent Island for a feast of crabs, fries, and hushpuppies—all doused in Old Bay and malt vinegar.

Sarah, Alexandria Stylebook: I’m excited to get some fresh air out in Utah! Many think of it as a winter destination, but summer is my favorite time of year! The Bonneville Salt Flats are a must!

Kristin, Kristin Try Interiors: This summer we are headed on an Alaskan Cruise and plan to explore Seattle, too! We are looking forward to a different summer trip vs going to the beach. We hope to sneak in a little Michigan trip, also!

Rachel, Helen Olivia Floral: We have a second home in Duck, North Carolina (the happiest place on earth if you ask me) and spend the summer back and forth.

Meshelle, Hummingbird and The Parlour:  Türkbükü: Where Bohemian Chic Meets Aegean Bliss (and Michelin Stars!). Imagine a place where the sun kisses the turquoise Aegean, where bougainvillea spills over whitewashed walls, and the scent of grilled octopus mingles with the salty air. Welcome to Türkbükü, a captivating coastal town in Bodrum, Turkey, that's ready to steal your heart. This isn't just a vacation spot; it's an experience, a vibrant tapestry woven with incredible food, warm smiles, unique charm, and a touch of unparalleled luxury.

Celthia, Bellacara: My husband and I love taking relaxing trips to the Dominican Republic and actually just returned from a visit in May. So, this summer we're planning to keep things low-key, perhaps with a quick weekend to NYC for dinner and a show.

Jess, Eries Interiors: Our favorite place to escape the August humidity is Upstate New York, where I am from and my family still lives. It's the most gorgeous place during the summer, and lake life in NY is unparalleled. It's definitely our happy place.

Kait, Renee C. Gage Photography: I'm heading home! My family spends the better part of the summer in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, where my husband and I grew up. It's the perfect place to disconnect, relax and recharge!

Katelin, Family First Law: This summer I'm off to Tulsa for a cycling race, Chincoteaque for a family beach week, Palm Springs for birthday celebrations and Key West! But plenty of room in between to fill out with a good weekend trip, or to go home to Western Maryland and Seneca Rocks to enjoy some quality time hiking and swimming. And you never know, I could hop a flight to Europe if I settle some cases!

Lauren, XML Financial Group: I am excited to explore Vancouver and Whistler this summer, both new destinations for me! Last year, I traveled with longtime friends but new to traveling together, and we had a great time and similar cadence of activity interests and exploring. So, this time we are heading westward to British Columbia.

Drew, Old House Provisions: One of the great perks of running a menswear store is that one of the largest and well attended trade shows is in Florence, Italy. It’s called Pitti Uomo, and it’s a hub not just for inventory selection, but also networking. Everyone in the industry shows up – the producers, designers, media, influencers, and even some  and even resellers like me. I’ll be headed there this June. Old House Provisions will remain open during that time while my associate Anne (my extremely generous mom) watches the shop!

Adrien, Adrien Cotton Wellness: I will be heading to sunny Southern Cal again next week to enjoy beach walks, college tours, stunning sunsets, and lots of rest. Encinitas to be exact.

Danielle, fibre space: The owner of Stitch Sew Shop and I, along with our other bestie, are headed to CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa in the Sonoran Desert for some much-needed healing and rejuvenation!

Phyllis, The Patterson Group: St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. I love to relax, go to good restaurants, and island-hop.

Rainbow, Alexandria Stylebook: Hoping for a boating excursion to Rehoboth or St. Michael’s (help me convince my hubby!) Every summer, we also like to visit family and friends in Upstate New York, Long Island and Manhattan. And for my daughter – there’s a Bluey X Camp on Fifth Avenue we need to check out!
