Paige Denim Event, Just For Men
A few weeks ago, I was in Manhattan with Annette and Rebecca on a buying trip. We were out for a drink with one of our favorite sales reps and we started talking about the men’s store, Yellow Jacket. It has for sure been a learning experience for me. I know there is a need for this store in Old Town, I know we have great stuff, but clearly, we need to do a better job of getting the word out.
We decided it is time to have some events at Yellow Jacket. The one thing we hear the most is that men need denim – or their wives or someone in their life wants them to upgrade their denim. I know we have had some frustrated customers when we don’t have sizes, so we are trying to make it easier by having a denim event.
We are hosting our first-ever Paige Denim event. We have stocked our shelves with lots and lots of Paige denim in their best-selling styles and colors. We are also introducing the Stafford Trouser. My husband loves the ABC pants from a certain athletic apparel store and the Paige version is even better. It is made from a performance fabric that contains three super stretch fibers, so the fit is comfortable, but looks a bit dressier. My husband says you can get away with wearing it to a work event, provided you are not trying to sell something new to strangers. It’s the comfortable, almost casual, pant for meeting people you don’t have to sell, he says.
If we don’t have the size you need, we can order it. I know the length is often a frustration for men, so we are offering free hemming as well. There are other colors available for special order, too. So, if you find something you like, you can get more than one. I have also learned that men don’t shop often and once they find something that works, they don’t want just one – they stock up. Maybe they are onto something.
I know that not many of the Stylebook readers are men but if you have a guy in your life who needs some new denim (or really any new clothes) please send him our way. Yellow Jacket is ready when they are. The event starts Thursday and goes on all weekend. And we don’t just have jeans, we have so many great new spring arrivals. We are determined to make great, unpretentious, functional styles for men available, and accessible, right here in Old Town – and we hope you will help spread the word!
