The Chicest Color Combination of Them All

What comes to mind when you think about your first memorable shopping experience? Maybe it was a big trip to New York City over the holidays, or perhaps it was a stroll through that beautiful department store at your local mall? Shopping was such an experience when I was little. My memories aren’t necessarily filled with a specific store, but a particular set of stylish women who worked behind the checkout counters of the stores my mom frequented. Their hair was slicked back in a low bun, their lipstick was a fire engine red, and they always wore black blazers, black cigarette pants, and a simple, white cami. I have a sneaking suspicion that this look has been imprinted on my mind as the underlying subtext of some of my favorite outfits. I am certain that these women shaped my idea of classic style. As I made my way through the new inventory at TSALT earlier this week, my eyes instantly gravitated towards the items that were not the stereotypical bright and bold colors of spring, but the classic yin and yang color combo of (you guessed it) black and white.Let’s keep one thing in mind: it’s perfectly okay to wear black and white when everyone else is wearing color. In fact, some of the most colorful personalities I know wear no color at all! Personally, when I am feeling a little “extra” I wear black and white. After all, we can’t let our outfits compete with our personalities, can we?Check out my current list of favorite pieces from TSALT. All are stunning, chic, and most importantly, black and white![nemus_slider id="57755"]
