What's Coming to The Seedling Collective

Many readers may remember that last year, I opened a new Pop-Up Studio where our old storefront used to be. Called The Seedling Collective, this space is dedicated to providing a customizable boutique space for as short as one day and as long as three months for brands interested in popping up in Old Town. It has been an experimental concept that has taken a few months to settle in, but I'm pleased to say that we have progressed into a wonderfully successful first year. And, I'm excited to share with you that we are fully booked through mid-June with some delightful pop-ups.Starting in early February, a wonderful jewelry brand called Viva Vida will be popping up for three weeks. Yes, more jewelry for you! Viva Vida creates lovely simple, delicate 18k gold plated pieces that will synch perfectly with your existing jewelry collection. The brand was started by owner Mary Sapountzakis while she was recovering from leukemia and wanted to create a concept that reflected her innate creativity and love for living beautifully. She is planning some wonderful workshops, meet-and-greets, and other events while she's at The Studio, so make sure you follow @theseedlingcollective on instagram and subscribe to our newsletter to see what she puts together for us.  In March, we're welcoming back to The Studio our neighbor Bonny McMahon, owner and textile designer of Garden Home, a bespoke homeware brand based out of Alexandria. Bonny held a very short pop-up over the weekend of The Scottish Walk and is returning with a full month of new products, workshops, and other brand collaborations that we can't wait to see. Make sure you stop by while she's at The Studio to see how she transforms our little 500 square foot boutique again.  Come April and May we're opening our doors again to Dresscode who popped up with us last fall. Owner Maribeth Geraci will be returning with an updated collection of elevated options for the career-minded woman. In addition to her walk-in hours, Maribeth offers private consultations to clients who prefer a one-on-one shopping experience or who need a little directional coaching for their wardrobe. She carries chic brands such as Lafayette 148Peserico, and Strenesse and you'll be sure to catch a few accessory trunk shows while she's in town.  Finally, in June we're hosting the local brand Wiley Grey for their early-summer pop-up. Wiley Grey is a curated online boutique started by owners Nikki Yazdanian and Rachel Grinney as a curated alternative to the sometimes overwhelming abundance of shopping options available. They personally select each and every item in their beautifully cultivated collection and try to keep their selections in approachable price points for everyone. Trendy enough to be fun but curated enough to be special, Wily Grey has hosted a number of pop-ups in D.C. and we can't wait to host their first foray into the Alexandria neighborhood.  To say up to date on what's happening at The Seedling Collective, take a moment to sign up for our newsletter on our website. We send it out regularly with updates on who's at The Studio, links to workshop information, and other fun bits around town. Also, make sure you follow us on instagram @theseedlingcollective to see The Studio in action. We're excited to share another season with you!
