10 Stunning Front Porches in Alexandria That Boost Curb Appeal

Front porches are front of mind for many people. Why is that? From beauty to functionality, here are ten Alexandria porches, designed by Convene Architecture, that illustrate our top reasons!

A front porch enhances your home because it:

  1. Says “welcome” without words

2. Sets the tone for the inside of your house

3. Lights your way home

4. Draws everyone’s eye to your front door

5. Makes a great reading nook

6. Illuminates fun outdoor light fixtures

7. Provides a place to “convene” with friends and neighbors

8. Keeps you dry while you unlock your front door

9. Makes a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail

10. Provides a “wow” for the front of your house (especially if there is a corresponding dormer!)

A front porch can take many forms. It can be small or large, and can be any style or material. When we design a front porch, we focus on how our clients will use it, and how it will look with the rest of their home. Fine materials and detailing make all the difference, as does beautiful lighting.

After the year of the longest winter, here’s to spring and summer, with lots of time spent on the front porch! Are you transforming your home? Is a front porch on your wishlist? We’d love to hear from you!
