From Wilderness Studies to Holiday Gifts
In the far corner of my studio sits a humble stack of small paintings. Most were created in the wilderness as a quick study meant to capture, in the purest way, the relationship between color, composition, and the spirit of a specific place. They’re my stepping stones toward larger commissions. Sometimes I finish them, but more often they get set aside, stacked, lost, or painted over. Purpose fulfilled? Maybe… maybe not.
Last week a client stopped by asking if I had anything available for $500 or less. I told her I didn’t—until she pointed to that forgotten stack and asked if she could look through it. That’s when I realized I actually do. She ended up buying two pieces. She was thrilled, and honestly, so was I. It’s far better for a painting to live on someone’s wall bringing joy than to gather cobwebs and paint splatter in a neglected pile.
“Peony Study” Oil on board $500
This week I’ve been pulling out a handful of these studies, giving each a bit of refinement and attention.
So I present to you “The Stack”—a special offering for your holiday gift giving. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to collect one of my studies, this is it. First come, first served, with just enough time to frame before the holidays. Text me if you are interested 703-380-5325, I will also be adding them to my window at 2009 Mt Vernon Ave.
Cheers!
