Fall Trends to Look For This Season at The Hive
This week temperatures are in the 90s, so maybe it isn’t the best time to send out our Fall Look Book. Even looking at sweaters and wool blazers makes me hot!
But if I can ignore the heat and just flip through the pages, I get so excited for our new arrivals. I love fall and the great clothes that come with it. It is my season. I love blazers and layers and all things cozy.
As I flip through the pages, or even look at the racks at this point, you can notice some trends, as much as I hate that word. Maybe a better way to say it is that there are some currents that are really big this fall, and I am here for all of them.
1. Quilted
There are lots of quilted jackets this fall. The last few years, there have been lots of patterned quilted jackets, but this fall I feel like there is more of an elevated feel to the quilted look. I love the blazer version from Veronica Beard.
2. Brown
It is all about brown this fall. Literally everything is brown, even denim. My very Southern grandmother always told me black was too harsh for me, so I should wear brown, so I guess this is my season.
3. Stripes
Everything is also striped, especially sweaters; think collegiate retro looks. We have a few coming in from Guest in Residence that really does it the best, if you ask my opinion.
4. Bombers
I am not sure if it is because of YSL or if maybe someone else should get credit, but bombers and cropped jackets are in every collection. It is hard to pick which one I like the best. Anine Bing did two great leather versions, and then a new brand, Arlo Mott, has a great corduroy version I can’t wait to buy. We have them in all shapes, all colors, and all fabrics.
5. Leather and Suede
Nothing says fall like suede and leather. We have so many good pieces coming that it is hard to pick. There are skirts and pants from Citizens of Humanity, jackets and dresses from Anine Bing, a T-shirt from TWP, and countless options from Veronica Beard.
Let us know if there is anything in the Look Book you would like us to pull for you or let you know about when it comes in. We also have so many great trunk shows coming up for fall. If there is something from a brand we carry that you don’t see but would like us to try and order, let us know. We can’t wait to see you and see the temperature drop so we can wear these amazing clothes.
