Last Call for Summer Savings at The Hive
My husband is from up in a holler in East Tennessee, which means he has lots of colorful Appalachian sayings that not everyone understands, but I have adopted a few.
My favorite (besides “lower than a snake’s belly” - which is truly the most illustrative simile I know) is at the end of a school year or sports season he always says, “we are down to the lick log now.” It means: the end is imminently near. That is how I feel about this time of the year in retail as it pertains to our sale. We are for sure, down to the lick log part of the season.
Our items on the shelves are starting to dwindle and the Alexandria Sidewalk Sale is around the corner. Despite it being the end, we have more items than we would like to have at this point: over 600 to be exact. So in an effort to move a little more before we start the sidewalk sale in a few weeks, we are doing an extra 20 percent off sale for the weekend.
We don’t even know what sidewalk prices will be at this point, I can guess that our “extra 20% off sale” will probably be lower than what the sidewalk prices will be, so this is a unique chance.
