Make it Modular with Marfa Stance at The Hive

We hosted our first Marfa Stance event last fall. I hesitate to call it a trunk show; it is more of a pop-up. It is really a Marfa Stance store inside The Hive.

So, what is Marfa Stance and how does this event work?

I first noticed Marfa Stance on social media. These cool jackets that were like nothing else I had seen on the market kept popping up in my feed. Then, when I looked further, I noticed you could change the collars out and make different looks out of one jacket. I was hooked. They had me when I saw a pink fur collar. I mean, does it get any better than that?

The brand was started by British designer Georgia Dant in 2019. She had worked at Burberry and Rag & Bone. Her love of luxury fashion and how it was made was met with disappointment by how quickly trends came and went, and she wanted to make something that had longevity. She calls Marfa Stance a jigsaw for living; it is always adapting and evolving.

This event works differently than others. The Marfa Stance team will be in store Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19. They bring samples of the different jacket styles, along with the hoods and collars. You order directly from Marfa Stance, and then they ship directly to you.

Last year, I purchased the nylon bomber and a fur collar, and this year I think I am adding a knit hood to my collection. The longer jackets are also really catching my eye.

Stop in and shop Marfa Stance and all of our newest fall arrivals. We can’t wait to see you.

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
