Dear Frances: Fall Shoes We’re Falling For

I used to write political mail for a living, and oftentimes the only thing I could think of to persuade voters was that the candidate had a three-point plan for whatever issue I was writing about. That is kind of how I feel about my plan for our shoe selection this fall. I have a three-point plan, and it is Emme Parsons, Dear Frances, and Vibi Venezia.

We just received our first delivery of Dear Frances, and they are, as I like to say, life-changing. Founded in London in 2014 by Jane Frances and Scott O’Connor, the brand is celebrated for its minimalist and sculptural designs. Made in Italy, they have a commitment to slow fashion and quality materials.

It will be hard to find me this fall or winter wearing something other than the Vico Mule. These shoes are so comfortable you will not want to take them off, especially the shearling version.

I also love a pointy flat, and Dear Frances has the best pointy flats around. I personally think everything looks a little bit better with a pointy shoe. It elongates the leg and has a more sophisticated feel.

Of course, we couldn’t have a fall season without having some boots. These are just the right mix of casual and dressy. The lug sole makes them so comfortable, but they are still sleek.

Stop by The Shoe Hive and check out our updated shoe selection and new brands. We are so excited about this fall and hope you are too.

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
