Finally Getting With The Times!
Wow. I never imagined that going from only having a brick-and-mortar store to selling online would be such a task! When I bought Kiskadee, there was no online selling at all. I knew that at some point, I'd like to do that, but it was always this nebulous idea in my head. When the pandemic first hit, I knew we needed to move in that direction sooner rather than later. We had absolutely no online presence whatsoever. We quickly moved into selling on Facebook, but that was a major challenge. If we sold something off of Facebook, I had to manually remove it from our inventory. It was a good quick fix in the moment, but it was very cumbersome and left room for errors. I knew we needed more, but it was such a larger problem for me to wrap my head around.
The main issue for me is that we had to switch all of our inventory from one point of sale to another. There are so many little things and gifts in this store that just the thought of it made me lose sleep at night. In typical "Celeste Fashion," I made the problem bigger in my head than it needed to be, which always makes me procrastinate. I finally got my butt in gear! Needless to say, all of the hard work on the part of my consultant and Allison is finally paying off, and our new website will officially go live on August 23. In addition, when you come into Kiskadee to shop in person, we will have a new system in place of the antique we had before. This will include Apply Pay, etc.
