For The Love Of Track Pants

I realize that maybe having Madeline serve as the model for the last few shoots wasn’t the best idea–it reminds us all of how much we miss her! But, I am glad to report that she is living her best life in New York City–no surprise there. Besides asking her to pick out her favorites, I also asked Mad to model one of our favorite items–track pants. These are not to be confused with sweatpants or joggers, there is obviously a huge difference.

My love of track pants, along with Madeline’s, started back in 2015 when we opened The Hive and hosted our first Veronica Beard trunk show. This time was the height of the scuba jacket. Of course, Madeline and I purchased blazers, but the “hit” item was a pair of navy track pants with a white stripe down the side. I wore them on one of the days of the event, and Madeline also purchased a pair. Here we are, seven years later, and we both still wear them all the time!

Since then, I have been looking for more track pants. Of course, Tibi is the brand that met the challenge this fall with their Scottie Jogger in various colors. They have flown off the shelves, but another brand that has also risen to the occasion is Lou Lou Studio.

I liked this design because of the button detail and the weight of the fabric. As someone who likes pants more than dresses, I am always on the hunt for pants I can wear in the warmer temperatures and not be “burning hot,” as my son always says in the summer.

I loved these pants so much that I ordered them in three colors. When something is this good, you need options. Once you see Madeline’s amazing styling of the pants, it will be difficult to decide what color you will need. I went with the blue. Dressed up or dressed down, you can’t go wrong with track pants–especially if you are like me and comfort is key. Come see our selection. And, oh, we still have some Tibi left as well!

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
