Celebrate Mom With Adina Reyter

I must say, Mother’s Day might be my favorite holiday. I kind of milk it for all it is worth and make it a weekend-long event. All this really means is I do no laundry, dishes, or picking up of the house the entire weekend. Because I can’t stand having a messy house, I spend hours a day doing these three things otherwise.

I do realize for many this is not an easy day. My husband lost his mother 7 years ago and that factors for him; I also get the loss of a mother isn’t the only reason it is hard for some as well.

I do, however, think we are all mothers in some way. There is someone or something that we have all nurtured along the way. Most days, my favorite kids are the ones with 4 legs and fur, as they tend to not complain and show unconditional love more than my teenagers do.

But back to the point of this post, I hope we can all find someone to celebrate or maybe honor on this day.

As much as I enjoy not doing anything this weekend, I do love a gift. I remember reading the book The 5 Love Languages when I got married many moons ago, and I sure am a “love through gifts and deeds” person. I have not looked deeper into what this says about me, but it’s the truth.

It has become a tradition to host an Adina Reyter trunk show before Mother’s Day each year. They ship us lots and lots of bling for this show that we don’t normally have and they let us place special orders that will arrive in time for Mother’s Day on May 14.

Adina recently introduced their initial and letter charms. I ordered an E and have been wearing it for the last month and everyone asks me about it. Thinking maybe I need to add some more to my collection. That is the great thing about all their charms, they can be attached to any necklace or bracelet. Of course, she has amazing necklaces you can purchase as well to start your collection. The chains can also be worn on their own. It isn’t just letter and number charms, they have everything from hearts to butterflies and even a lobster claw.

They still have their delicate pieces as well. Great earrings, rings, and necklaces that you can layer. I never take off one of my necklaces even when I workout. It is so subtle and I feel lost without it. I also am not a huge earring person but when I do wear them, I tend to wear posts or small hoops from the collection.

Yes, all these pieces are a splurge - this is fine jewelry and an investment. Starting May 4 all Adina pieces, even special orders, are 20 percent off. We rarely put jewelry on sale so if you have been eyeing a piece from the collection this is your chance. We have a Lookbook of all the pieces they sent and our in-store selection. We hope you will come check it out. We are happy to contact anyone that might need a reminder of what you want this year or maybe just get it for yourself. I have found this is the easiest way to shop.

Owner | The Hive, The Shoe Hive, and Yellow Jacket

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
