It is hard to believe it’s mid-August, and we’ve already received Ulla Johnson’s fall collection. I mean, all of it! I don’t think we have ever had it so early. Usually, we are waiting and waiting for the shipment to arrive. I have to say: this delivery is one of my favorites yet from Ulla. My friend, Donnely, stopped by to see me in my office today (that is, to be clear, the basement of The Hive), and we started going through all the new Ulla arrivals. She agreed – it is the best delivery yet.

This season is a little more tailored, with not quite as much volume as some past collections. Don’t get me wrong, Ulla always has a little bit of puff, but with this delivery, that puff is slightly more subdued. 

I love it all, but I do have a few favorites. The Flora top in Bellflower and the matching Sabra skirt are so amazing together, and the Brea top in Agave is a must-have. Then my favorite two prints of the season (you can tell because I ordered different pieces in the same print, which is rare) are an ikat in Nimbus and a burnout velvet with a swirling moiré motif in Marine. I have never seen anything like this velvet!
