This is the time of year we like to call the “Gambler’s Sale." Prices continue to drop but you don’t know if the item you want will still be around if you wait. So, you have to decide if you want to chance it or not. I get it.

This year we started our sale earlier than ever and we continue to add pieces to the selection. It is by far our biggest sale yet. Last week we reduced all sale items to 40 percent off. Just to make sure everyone knows our plans, on June 20 (in honor of my 50th birthday) we are marking it all down to 50 percent off. Then as everyone knows, we start our Courtyard Clearance later in the summer where we move stuff to The Shoe Hive Courtyard and slash pieces even more. All this leads up to our Tax-Free weekend the first weekend in August and then, of course, the Alexandria Sidewalk Sale the week after. Our red pens won’t have any ink left by then!

As we continue to discount and I look at the racks, there are always things that I really don’t understand how they are still here. There is so much good stuff! Since I am not shy about giving away unsolicited advice, I thought I would let people know what I would buy if I were shopping the sale.

So here it is.


1. Blazers

We have so many great blazers right now. These are versatile so you can wear them this summer when the AC is turned up and you are shivering inside and this fall when the temperature drops. My top two pics would be the cream Smythe cropped blazer and the ALC tan cropped jacket. They look good on everyone. Great over summer dresses and truly timeless. I keep scratching my head as to why we have so many left. And if you are reading this and love Smythe, we just added some more styles to the sale.



2. Logo Isabel Marant Items

I have mentioned this so many times, but I am not a logo girl typically. But for some reason, I love Isabel Marant's logo items, all of them really. I can’t get enough of the graphic tees and sweatshirts. There are so many marked down (clearly, I ordered too many because I find it difficult to choose) and you really will wear these all year. When I clean out my closet, which is often, I never toss an Isabel logo item.



3. Purses

Purses are always great to buy on sale. They always fit and even if you don’t need them right now, you will one day. Like the Alexis Bittar clutch, it is perfect for the evening. I think my clutch purses are the most borrowed items from friends. They also make a great gift.
