Spotlight On Rupert Sanderson: You Won’t Want To Take These Shoes Off!
One of the reasons I opened The Shoe Hive almost 20 years ago was to bring brands to Alexandria that you couldn’t find everywhere. When I placed my first buy in 2003, the brand Emma Hope was at the top of my list. From England, but made in Italy, they have truly some of the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen. I kick myself for getting rid of some of my own personal pairs. For most customers, this shoe and its price point were a reach – but for everyone who made the splurge, they loved them dearly.
The gentleman who represented the brand in America back then was named Andrew. He was perfectly dressed, perfectly charming and exactly as I imagine the Brits to be. Longtime readers know I am a bit of an Anglophile.
A few years later Andrew moved to a brand, Rupert Sanderson, which we also immediately stocked. I wish I still had my first pair of Ruperts from back in our little shop on Royal Street. A fellow Brit, Rupert started his line in 2001, and we still carry them today.
The Shoes
My favorite shoe from Rupert is the Deidre. It is a low platform and it is possibly one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. This season they introduced it in a flatform style and we couldn’t be more pleased. We thought they were so great we had to get them in two colors. If you want a little height and tons of comfort and style, this is your shoe.
Of course, I couldn’t pass up selecting one heel from Rupert. We picked the tan Maryjane style heel in a neutral color. This season you will see Maryjanes in every heel height and color.
Since Ruperts are more expensive, The Shoe Hive is doing a Designer Spotlight and offering 20 percent off online and in-store on Rupert Sanderson from September 7 - September 10. You really can’t go wrong with the platform or heel. We know you will get your price per wear because you will have them forever! They are the perfect pair: timeless and comfortable.
