Spring Event Schedule + Meet Ann Mashburn And The Fortunato Sisters!

I usually try to let people know about all the upcoming events for a season before the season starts. This year, I have been so busy planning them that we forgot to tell people about them. I apologize for the delay. We are hoping to add a few more events but at least we are getting a little ahead of the game for May.

I wanted to make sure we gave everyone a little extra notice about our Ann Mashburn and Lizzie Fortunato event. It was such a huge success last time and everyone had so much fun (including Ann Mashburn and the Fortunato sisters) that we wanted to do it again this spring. Both Ann Mashburn and Lizzie Fortunato are sending tons of great pieces that we will just have from the 28 to the 30 but that isn’t the best part. On Friday the 28 Lizzie Fortunato, Kathryn Fortunato, and Ann Mashburn will be in the store to meet you. They truly are the most gracious and kind people. Few designers take the time to travel to accounts. I feel lucky that I carry these two brands. Our customers love both brands, but they are also just so wonderful to work with. They make doing what we do fun.

Look for more posts next week on what exactly they will be bringing but I wanted to make sure everyone marked their calendars. Friday you can also do made-to-order shirting from Ann Mashburn. The link below has times that you can shop with Ann Mashburn herself until 1pm on Friday, and then we will have someone from the brand at the store until 5pm to help as well.

Made-to-order isn’t made to measure like the men’s styles; this is a little different. We don’t take measurements and make a custom shirt; rather we have samples of different styles that you can try and find your best style and fit and then there is a huge collection of fabric swatches from which you can choose to have a shirt made just for you. There are great colors, Liberty of London prints, and so many stripes. I am sure there is something for everyone. I love the designer tunic and I get the director tunic to wear as a cover-up. I am not good with frills, really, so I love a great oversized shirt to wear at the beach. Of course, I wear it during the day too, but it has become my summer staple. You just can’t go wrong with a good shirt.

Of course, we didn’t want to leave out the men so we are also doing a Made to Measure event for shirts. Men can stop in Yellow Jacket Thursday night from 4pm to 7pm and Friday 10am to 4pm and work with Conor of Sid Mashburn. Many folks will recognize Conor from the Georgetown store, but he is now the Wholesale Manager for the company.

It is going to be a fun day. We are going to have an espresso bar from 10am to 1pm and some treats from Mae’s Market as well. Did I mention the second-best part? All Lizzie Fortunato and Ann Mashburn is 20 percent off. If you can’t make it on Friday, the event goes on all weekend. Hope to see you soon, I for one can’t wait!
