Tibi All Day Every Day

We just unpacked our summer delivery from Tibi. It is good, really good. We even sold out of one of the pieces (the navy sweatshirt) within just a few days of receiving it.

Often, I wonder if I should clean out my closet. I would pretty much get rid of everything that isn’t Tibi. Besides a few Smythe blazers, Citizens of Humanity Jeans, and Allude sweaters. Tibi is pretty much all I wear these days. I guess, in addition, I do have an illustrious and brand-diverse collection of button-downs. Most days, however, it would be hard to find me not wearing a Tibi item, if not wearing all Tibi.

It is just easy and I feel good in it. The times I do wear other brands, they mix perfectly with my Tibi.

This is just me, and my style. It is my “vibe” as my kids like to say. The term the founder of Tibi uses to describe the brand is Creative Pragmatist. The description they use to define Creative Pragmatist is, "an individual who values creativity and pragmatism in daily life.” This applies in equal portions to their style choices. They thrive on personal expression and use fashion to express that creativity. In equal measure, the Creative Pragmatist desires functionality and real practicality in how clothing works in their wardrobe. When creativity and pragmatism are in balance, they feel most like themselves.

Beyond the term, Creative Pragmatist, the clothes that describe someone who adheres to the adjective are chill, modern, and classic. This is the first brand that has described in words (not clothes which is important I think) how I feel about my own style, and how I want to feel when I get dressed. If you watch Tibi Instagram Lives (which I recommend you do) they also talk about having your modifier. It is the extra word that gives your personality and character a defining trait. I have thought about what my modifier should be, and I think it is sporty.

This week and from here on out, we are going to shine the “spotlight” on our newest deliveries from our favorite designers. Annette has been moving everything around to put this delivery back by the pink chairs we all love to sit in and chat. It’s conveniently located by dressing rooms so we can help you try on the latest and greatest pieces that we are excited about.

Owner | The Hive, The Shoe Hive, and Yellow Jacket

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
