How To Wear A Work Of Art
This fall, we had our W. Kleinberg trunk show, and our lovely rep was in town. She came in wearing the most amazing silk blouse I had ever seen. I will admit, it was not something I would typically be drawn to, but there was something about it that I just adored. I am not a big print person, but I had to have this shirt. It reminded me of a gorgeous silk scarf that had been turned into a shirt. I, of course, asked her about it, and she told me it was Sabina Savage, and she actually represented the line. Then it clicked - I had been obsessed with a blazer I saw online (at Scarpa in Charlottesville), and I realized it was the same brand.
They are just the most stunning prints you have ever laid eyes on. The designer, Sabina, can take six weeks to draw a print. Her studio is in England, where she is from, and they are all printed and made in Como, Italy. This luxury brand is known for its craftsmanship, quality, and telling of a story. Sabina trained with Alexander McQueen and Paul Smith after studying fashion in Paris. She started her own line in her 20s and has combined her love of fashion with her love of the English Countryside.
The pieces make you feel like you are wearing a work of art. I was so happy we could get our hands on a few shirts for fall, and this spring, look for a larger selection. I love the coral print. I can’t wait to wear it with my Tibi cream leather pants and maybe the shorts when it warms up a bit. Oh, I guess my cream leather Tibi skirt as well. Lots of options. I love it with denim as well.
