Veronica Beard Trunk Show: Lookbook Included
If I had to credit one brand with the success of The Hive, it would be Veronica Beard. In the beginning, it was literally half of our business. Here we are almost five years later, and it remains one of the (if not the) top brands at the store. If you had to ask me how to explain the brand's appeal, it would be because the women who started the company and run the company still are working moms with busy lives - just like the women who shop at our stores. The two Veronicas have eight children between them; that is right, eight. They started Veronica Beard in 2010 with their signature and now iconic twist on a blazer, you know, the one you can put a dickey in and turn it into a different look by simply zipping in a different lining. The dickey allows you to do layering without adding bulk and, at the same time, change the look of your outfit.
They started small and grew organically over time. Now the two Veronicas have an empire, with their own storefronts, and the label is still carried at amazing retailers across the country and beyond. We are proud to be part of this group.
Here is the thing: I go to their showroom at least four times a year, if not more. The Veronicas are always there, in person. They are the brand, and they are the ones at the head of the company. They've never slacked off, even after achieving wild success.
I think that is why it works so well. They get it. They go from the office to lunch to a game to a school meeting. They are busy just like we all are. We all need clothes that can carry us through the different parts of our lives, and they get that.
When it came time for our trunk show, I wanted someone to model the collection who personified this lifestyle. I knew Tara Maglio was the perfect person. I met Tara a few years back at the stores, and of course, we have a close mutual friend (Emily Jones, who was the first Veronica Beard model with her sister, Evie). Tara is the Director of College Counseling at Episcopal High School and the mother of three teenage girls (ages 14, 15, and 19). She travels for work as well and needs clothes that are versatile, comfortable, and keep up with her crazy schedule. That is why she has always been a lover of Veronica Beard; the clothes make getting dressed and looking put together easy.
I can't thank Tara enough for taking the time to help us out. She literally always has a smile on her face and an ease about her that makes you feel like you have known her forever.
So come shop these great looks and more starting Thursday, April 7, until Sunday, April 10. There are so many great styles, and of course, the best part - all Veronica Beard, including special orders, is 20 percent off.
Below is a lookbook of most of the items we have in store for spring and those sent to us just for this special event.
