K.I.S.S. And Tell

Game on! We are officially in that magical period between Halloween and Christmas Eve, where it feels like the Starship Enterprise has hit warp speed. I’m always amazed that January and February can seemingly linger on forever while November and December feel as though we are trying to capture lightning in a bottle. There is always more to do and there are never enough hours in the day. In other words, it’s time to get it done!

Thankfully, Alexandria Stylebook is like an extra set of hands. Each day, they offer great ideas for gift giving and events that get everyone in the spirit of the season. But who’s going to be there for you when it’s time to put yourself together for the holiday parties you’re sure to attend? Hopefully, I can be of some help as I lay down some tried-and-true wisdom: K.I.S.S.

You know the phrase…keep it simple stupid! There’s no better time than now to implement this acronym to save your “bacon” and allow you to enjoy spending more time with friends and family during a frantic time of year. Last week, I showcased Tibi’s latest holiday drop at The Hive. These pieces exhibit the definition of simple (presenting no difficulty) should be snapped up now so you can enjoy them in the weeks ahead. I realize many of us in the clothing arena seem to wax poetic about Tibi, but there's a good reason. It always works in a pinch! Another bonus – it plays well with some pieces you probably already own.

I often advise clients to not invite another problem into their wardrobe after a healthy closet purge. Holidays prompt all sorts of unnecessary purchases, but don’t get caught in a panic and purchase even more style mistakes. You can create the best holiday outfits when you have a simple plan in mind. This year, you still have time to plan ahead by implementing effective minimalism. I’m quite certain one of the following pieces from Tibi will bring a little joy to your present & future wardrobe.

Alicia McCaslin

Alicia was born and raised in Alexandria, and married a local boy. She is happily married and the mother of two amazing children and one adorable and terribly smart border terrier named Dixie. Alicia has always known she was a creative. She collected editions of Vogue from junior high on and has always loved clothing and design. She studied interior design at VCU and parlayed that degree into commercial interior design, the web design, and ultimately found herself managing a local boutique and serving as a stylist to many Alexandrian women. She now has a successful full-time styling business, The Tulle Box, and makes it her business to make her clients feel great about themselves and the way they look.
