Why does getting dressed for Thanksgiving feel like such an ordeal? Sitting down for dinner next to our families and friends to commemorate the relationships that carry us through the day-to-day deserves a touch of elegance. Yet, the thought of all those potatoes and pie has us yearning for stretchy waists. Thankfully, our contributors are here to make sure we don’t reach for sweatpants next Thursday – at least not until after dinner. Last week, Bishop Boutique featured four outfits to match your style, and Alicia offered her recommendations for simple and elevated pieces you can wear all year round. Stay tuned this week for more inspiration! We’re fortunate to have these local experts right at our fingertips.

Elizabeth: Get ready to sparkle this holiday season. We have so many cute holiday items in store just in time for the party circuit we are all ready to jump on. We tried to pick pieces that aren’t too “holiday,” so you could wear them through the whole year or most of it. The gold sequin skirt is a great example. It would be so great for a dinner look with a big, chunky cream or black sweater. Or, when the temperature rises, you can pair it with a white tank and jean jacket. Shouldn’t we sparkle all year? I think so!

Adrien: During perimenopause and menopause, our bodies are changing as much as they did during puberty. This change comes with a host of new “beginnings” and a myriad of reminders – like hot flashes, sleep disruption, and irritability, to name a few.

Speaking of sleep disruption, a good question to ask is, “How many hours of uninterrupted sleep are we getting a night?” Sleep is actually one of the best things we can do for our strength, both physical and mental, during menopause. If you'd like to work on achieving restful and consistent sleep, register for my Mastering Sleep Webinar!

Join me tomorrow, November 15, from 6-7pm, as I share my PROVEN small-yet-impactful sleep habit changes to help Alexandria Stylebook readers MASTER their sleep and feel better in their bodies during menopause.

Amy: This candle is the perfect blend of holiday fragrances! Fresh blue spruce, peppermint, and a note of vanilla sugar create a delightfully crowd-pleasing Snow Globe candle. Made of 100 percent soy wax and poured into a beautiful iridescent glass vessel, it will look lovely during the holidays and beyond. ($44, Penny Post)

Britt: Are you looking for plans this week? Join us Thursday at the Alexandria Lighting + Design after-hours open house at their new space at 444 S Pickett Street in the West End. We’re excited to welcome them to our Stylebook community. See you Tuesday, November 15, from 6-8pm to tour their new state-of-the-art design center and showroom!

Celthia: Compartés chocolates are back! These award-winning gourmet chocolates are a decadent indulgence.
