Lizzie Fortunato Virtual Trunk Show

Every day I seem to learn something new about running the stores. Even after 16 years I am still figuring things out, and the last few weeks have been, well, the last few weeks – a learning experience I hope I never have to endure again. I made it through the worst recession since the Great Depression in 2008-09 and through many government shutdowns that shocked our regional economy, but never did I think I would see this.I’m inherently an optimist and believe there will ultimately be silver linings to this tragedy we can all find. Right now, I would cite carry-out cocktails and that Yates pumps my gas for me. I know I am supposed to say that all the wonderful family time I’ve been getting is also a silver lining, and I will but you just have to catch me at the exact right moment. The thing I have learned, besides having the most loyal customers and a business community that is supportive of each other, is that I deal with some really exceptional brands that are run by some extraordinary people.I figured out the code word a brand uses that tells me they are committed to figuring out how we can get through this: it’s “together.” They email me and say how can we partner. It is amazing what a difference a word makes, but to me, that is the one that is magical. The first brand to email me this magic word was Lizzie Fortunato. I have written about this dynamic duo before, the twin sister team that makes the most original and beautiful pieces around. Their jewelry is primarily made in NYC in their offices -- if you go to their showroom you see the artisans at work -- with elements sourced from around the world.Last year we hosted a trunk show with Lizzie and it was amazing. This year we had even bigger plans: they were going to do an in-store appearance. I was so excited I wanted to burst. Well, things have clearly changed, and nobody is doing any in-person experiences anywhere except their couch, but that doesn’t stop us.We are going to do it the best we can. This is a little confusing, but we hope the look book helps. We have some items in stock in our store you can get right away, some items will ship within a week or two and some not until they can get back in the city next month we hope. If you see something online on their site that isn’t part of the trunk show, email us and we will see what we can do. Like I said, they are truly amazing partners.I hope you will support this female owned (almost all female-operated) business. And I haven’t even mentioned the best part. Well, the two best parts. Everything is 20 percent off (you probably could have figured that out) and everyone who purchases a piece during the trunk show will be entered to win a 15 minute zoom styling session with the Fortunato sisters! They are the queens of layering and can pass along their tricks of the trade.
