Love Your Space This Valentine's Day: Unique Gifts and Creative Workshops
As the long, cold (and windy!) days of January drag on, like many, I find myself battling the "January blahs." The holiday excitement has faded, and the gray skies seem endless. But there’s an antidote to this midwinter slump: infusing your space and spirit with love, light, and a touch of Valentine's Day magic! By decorating with soft, romantic accents, warm lighting, and symbols of affection, we can transform our homes into a cozy haven full of positivity and warmth. Whether it's through a gorgeous art glass vase, glowing candles, rose shower steamers or cheerful pink and red hues, a few simple touches of Valentine’s decor can help chase away the winter blues and brighten up the rest of the season.
Here are a few of my favorite items we’ve unboxed:
Art Glass Vase. Whether it's for your Valentine's table or not, this gorgeous vase brings warmth and joy and is sure to be a statement piece in your home decor this spring.
Placemat: Red Heart Die Cut. We love all the touches, and these are great for a Galentine’s event, your own love feast or just a nice night in. Die-cut placemats come as a set of 12 loose sheets. Best part – you don’t have to store them.
Chocolate…chocolate…chocolate! Every year, I search for the perfect Valentine's chocolate to stock on our shelves at Boxwood. This year, I finally found what I’ve been looking for! As a true chocolate lover (and admittedly quite picky), I can confidently say that everyone is going to love what we’ve brought in. You won’t want to miss it!
Solid Milk Chocolate Heart from Maggie Lyon. Be a solid Valentine with this 2 oz gift.
White Chocolate Mini Pretzels. White chocolate covered mini pretzels with Valentine’s decorations - pink, white and red nonpareils. Packaged in a clear tube to show off their deliciousness.
Back by popular demand, Spongelle and new this year — shower steamers from Musee.
Sweet Orchid Valentine’s Day Heart by Spongelle. Infused with a richly scented body wash and skin loving extracts of yuzu, edelweiss, and vetiver. The crisp, airy and floral notes feel like a match made in heaven.
Champagne and Rose Shower Steamers. They’ll relax in a refreshing shower, as geranium essential oil fills the air and invigorates their senses. Just turn on a hot shower and allow the room to fill with steam.
You may subconsciously raise your eyebrows, when you hear the words “Galentine’s Day” - but it’s actually a wonderful reason (excuse) to catch up with your girlfriends who you haven’t seen since before the holidays. Here are some hostess gift ideas that will bring back the joy you feel when you finally take “meeting up” off the group chat.
Geometry Tea Towels. Throw in the (ordinary) towel. Meet the product that started it all. The Geometry House Tea Towel is a cult favorite for a reason. Created from a tightly-woven Geoweave™ fabric that is ultra-absorbent, quick-drying and never wrinkles, this towel is built to work – while looking like a dream.
And last but not least—LAFCO! Over the holidays, we introduced LAFCO candles, filling the shop with their magical seasonal scents. Now, we’re thrilled to share that we’re carrying their everyday fragrances in both candles and diffusers. They just arrived YESTERDAY and are proudly displayed front and center in the store. Stop by to experience these fresh, new scents for yourself—you’ll also love the beautifully designed canisters they come in! My favorite is the Sea & Dune Classic Diffuser.
We’re regularly asked about our workshops and events, and I’m thrilled to announce that we have an amazing one coming up that we can’t wait to host:
Grab your partner and/or bestie as we host celebrated local booze author Jeff Cioletti back again at Boxwood. Jeff will share his one-of-a-kind journey through the world of spirits. With years of experience traveling the globe, Jeff has collected unique samples and fascinating stories from his adventures. In this exclusive event, he’ll share his expertise on international liquors, rare finds, and the art of collecting booze from far and wide. The evening will conclude with a special tasting of Jeff’s favorite "love potion" cocktail—crafted from his most treasured ingredients. Don't miss this chance to sip, savor, and explore the world through Jeff’s glass! Register here.
