New Line Alert: Generation Love

What I really like about Kiskadee is that we carry brands that you don’t see everywhere else. When I first started working at the shop, I had never even heard of a lot of our brands! As I started to learn more about our merchandise, I discovered that much of what we carry is designed by an individual or a modest-sized team, which I found fascinating because it seems so challenging! Now, whenever we get a new brand, I like to know who is behind the scenes.

Our latest new brand is Generation Love which was founded by two friends, Roni Hirshberg and Audrey Bressa, in 2008. Wanting to make clothes that were simple and wearable, they focused on fabric and fit, using knits produced in Los Angeles and natural and eco-friendly fabric dyes. Sourcing and production take place domestically whenever possible to support local communities, and many items are still made in New York City’s garment district.

Generation Love wants to provide the wearer with “statement pieces that double as a closet essential; sleek, yet laid back pairings that feel equally modern and timeless.” That seems like a lot to ask from a piece of clothing. But I’m interested because my closest can best be described as tiny, so I’m always looking for wardrobe multitaskers! I’m happy to report that I think Generation Love delivers. The tops can be dressed up or down and, since they’re made of cotton jersey fabric, they’re comfortable and easy to care for too!

Meadow Tie Dye and Zaylee Camo Top

While the sheer sleeves make this top a bit more formal, I think it would look as good with jeans and booties as it would with wide-legged black pants, coated denim, or a skirt.

What makes Generation Love special is the attention to detail, especially the fabric and cut.  These are tops that make you feel good and are easy to wear.  We hope you like them as much as we do!
