One-Stop Holiday Shopping Event
Angela and I tend to have our best - and worst - ideas while we are having drinks. We are always trying to think of new things to do at the stores and of course we love collaborating. A few weeks ago we were talking about what most retailers do this time of the year with the holidays approaching. Fall is such a busy time for everyone, and it seems like the holidays creep up on us every single year, despite the fact we clearly know far in advance when they will be.Instead of enjoying the fun festivities, we end up stressed out and counting the days until they are over. Where is the holiday joy in that angst?Angela and I thought it would be great if we could figure out something to do to make the holidays a little easier for once. What if before Thanksgiving even rolled around, we could check a ton of to-dos off of our list? Who doesn’t need that?Well, here is what I "hope" is our way to help you. Angela and I are hosting a Holiday Pop-up inside The Shoe Hive. We like to think of it as a Get-Ready-For-The-Holidays-So-You-Can-Enjoy-The-Holidays Event. Here is how it works. Thursday, November 14, 4pm - 8pm a group of local stores and small businesses are going to set up inside my store so you can get a big hunk of your holiday preparations done all at once.Stomping Ground will be on hand so you can order take-and-bake sides for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Less time in the kitchen means more time with family. And what would food be without drink? You can order cases of red, white, and bubbly and get a 10 percent discount! Don’t worry, she will have some delicious treats to sample as well. Sides, check. Treats, check. Drinks, check.Need makeup for a special event? Angela will be there to help you update your holiday makeup...maybe you have been looking for that perfect red lipstick. Here is the other thing I never knew about Bellacara, yes, they always have people on hand to help you with your makeup but if you need your makeup done for an event or photograph, you can make an appointment with an artist for $70. I have to admit, I had no idea about this until I called Angela and asked where I could get my makeup done for a photograph. I think she hung up on me at first – aghast that after 17 years of friendship I had never gone to her for this need. It’s such a great service and at a great price. What about decorations? We’ve got you covered! Holiday arrangements (I think they really make the perfect, and most useful hostess gifts) and wreaths can be ordered from Helen Olivia. Who wouldn't love the gift of a gorgeous wreath? Hint, hint...I would.Let’s talk about trimming the tree. We have local artists Meg Biram and Laura Hooper on hand with custom ornaments and other great decorating options like votives and pumpkins. Every year Angela gives her children personalized ornaments with their names and the year on them. They love pulling them out every year and reminiscing. Red Barn Mercantile will also be there will a fabulous selection of holiday décor and gifts.Of course you have to send out cards and wrap the presents under the tree, right? Well, Penny Post has the best selection around and is offering 20 percent off. Check, check – isn’t your list feeling shorter already? What about the gifts? We will all have great options and at The Shoe Hive all gifts and accessories are 20 percent off. Bellacara will be offering 15 percent off her gift options. Meaghan of Alex & Co. will also be on hand so you can order custom bangles and receive 10 percent off 1 and 20 off multiple orders.Phew, that was a long list. See, in one night you can check so many things off your list that by the time the holidays come around, you'll just sit back and relax. We are so excited about this event, please click below to sign up. We want to make sure that we are holiday ready.
