Our Fall Trunk Show Lineup Is Big!

I don't know about you, but around mid-August, I get out my calendar (yes, I still use a paper calendar for planning) and start writing in the things I have going on for the rest of the year. I look up both of my kids' school schedules and mark vacation days, finals, and big events. Then comes sports. I like to joke that I spend a lot of time and money watching other people's kids play sports. But most weekends, Brad and I have to divide and conquer for sports tournaments. Next, I start putting in meetings that repeat (this includes a monthly facial appointment) and, of course, store events - and, of course, market. Fall and December are busy market times as well which means trips to NYC and now Chicago for men's market.

I admit I got a little anxious as I was marking the calendar and the days and weekends started filling up!

I thought since we have so much going on this fall, I should probably fill everyone in on what is happening at the stores. There are some trunk show events we always try to have in the fall, like Marion Parke and Citizens of Humanity. This fall, we have even more than normal, I think. We kick it off with L'agence. They are sending a special trunk of items, and all L'agence will be 20 percent off for the event.

Next up is a really big event for us. Not only are we hosting a Tibi Trunk show starting Thursday, September 22 through Sunday, September 25, but the really big deal is that the Owner and Creative Director, Amy Smilovic, will be in store on Thursday of that week. We are so excited. Stay tuned for exact times.

Next up is Marion Parke, which we host every fall, and all Marion Parke will be 20 percent off from September 29 through October 2.

Then it Is time for our anniversary week. We haven't worked out all the details, but needless to say, the week of October 11 will be a big one.

The last event of October is our Citizens of Humanity Trunk Show, which will run Friday, October 21, and Saturday, October 22. Our representative from Citizens will be with us on Friday, and then we are bringing in Ranger Stitch from Nashville. I am so excited about having them in store. They do chainstitch embroidery using vintage machines. It is so amazing. Stay tuned for more information, but you will not want to miss this.

Oh wait, I left out Yellow Jacket! How could I forget that Sid Mashburn will be back with us on September 27 and September 28. If you would like to schedule an appointment for someone you love, or if you have someone you want us to reach out to who might want an appointment, please email elizabeth@theshoehive.com, and we will make sure to get it scheduled.

Whew, I am exhausted just typing this all, but it is going to be such a fun fall. We are ready for it, and we hope you will pop by to say hello for some of the events.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
